Called To Serve

Justin, Mom, and Dad went to Salt Lake last week to do some shopping for Justin's mission. They were able to go to a few stores and purchase everything he will need for his mission. He came home with all kinds of useful things for his mission.

They also had the opportunity to go to the Salt Lake Temple together. All of the siblings were very jealous but excited that Justin had the chance to go.

They were also able to go to the MTC and scope out the place J will live for 12 weeks.

It is hard to believe that Justin will be leaving in about 8 weeks. We are so proud of you J!!! The people in Ukraine are so lucky to have such an awesome missionary coming!!

Lots of 2X4's

The latest project in our family is building a shed at the new house. Since it was Spring Break, and the Son-in-Laws were free, it was the perfect time to get started. They accomplished a great deal. They still need to finish the roof but they have made great progress from the pile of 2X4's they started with.
The new house is coming along too! Only a few more major things to finish and it will be ready to move in. We are so excited for Mom and Dad! After 25+ years in their current house they deserve it! Here is a preview.

A peek at part of the Outside...still missing the courtyard

The Living Room & Fireplace The Dining Room and Entry

(the doors still need to be stained and the paint around the floorboards still needs to be touched up)

Half of the Kitchen and The Breakfast Nook

The Family Room

The rest of the house is coming along and we will try to post pictures as they are completed. We are so excited for all of the space in the new house. Especially with all of the upcoming events in the family.... it will be very nice to have space for everyone who is attending.

Call your Mimi!!

What happens when a 4 year old continues to pester his parents about getting a pet? Well of course he calls his Mimi and ask her to buy one. That is exactly what Mr. C did today. First, he asked Mimi to get a rabbit to keep in her backyard. However, with Cooper running around Mimi quickly put an end to that idea. Mr. C decided he could settle for a frog. So Mimi, thinking she would get him a water frog, went to the pet store with Mr. C. Well I guess you call this a water frog but, I am sure it was not what Mimi was thinking when she recommended a water frog.
Mr. C and Sweet E are the proud owners of not one, but two Red Belly Water Toads! They have a pretty awesome little terrarium set up. Lets hope they stay in there and they don't mysteriously end up loose in the house.

Justin's Call

I remember when Justin was just a little kid, it seems like just yesterday. We always knew the time would come for him to turn in his mission papers but, it always seemed so far away. Now 19 years later he has his call. For just over 3 weeks everyone, family and friends, have been guessing where he would be called. It is funny looking back and seeing that not a single person guessed the country that he will be serving in for the next two years. As mom said "You know that this is where the Lord needs Justin."
We are all so proud of him. Thinking about him leaving is sad, but knowing that he will be serving the Lord makes it a little easier to handle. I know Justin will bless many lives as he serves the people in his mission. Justin, we love you and are so proud of you!!

In 1998 a temple was announced to be built in the Ukraine. In 2007 they broke ground and they are anticipating the dedication of the temple in the Late 2010. Just in time for Justin's arrival from the MTC.

One of my favorite quotes about missionary work comes from Henry B. Eyring, "Rise to Your Call,"
"You are called to represent the Savior. Your voice to testify becomes the same as His voice, your hands to lift the same as His hands. His work is to bless His Father's spirit children with the opportunity to choose eternal life. So, your calling is to bless lives. .

MR. C

Anyone who knows this kiddo has seen this face before. This is the face he makes right before he runs full blast at you! He has so much love bottled up inside it is the only way he can get it all out! I love it!

Update

Well I know I am not good about updating this blog. I promise to catch up soon. The house is coming along. The plumbing, electrical, roof, windows and sprinkler system are all done. The next step is dry wall. Everything is moving quickly!

We also have some new pictures of the family. These were a Christmas present to my Dad from the kids. The were taken at the U of A. We are attempting to update my dad's office decor, while also matching his U of A theme.

What a MESS!!!

Okay so who thought it was funny to let this guy loose on our land??
We drove by the land today and it is a HUGE MESS!!! Unfortunately it wasn't the guy above, but the plumber that made the mess. It is hard to believe that the land was ever level given it's current condition. We will try to get a picture without falling into one of the trenches that are EVERYWHERE!!! It is exciting to see the soil move....but aren't we suppose to see progress?? Well hopefully the plumber is a hard worker and will have everything done and cleaned up soon so we can see what we consider progress.

Progress

The lot is clear and prepared for the foundation! Above is a picture of the lot from this weekend. We even have our first bathroom finished.

My Mom's favorite part of the whole process thus far is the septic tank. If you come to see the lot DO NOT ENTER the septic tank :) We spent Saturday morning loading trees and other brush from the backyard/back of the lot. This is a picture that my mom took. She found the dump quite fascinating. We even found a canoe but Daniel would not sit in for a picture. It was going to be the perfect start to My mom's latest business venture "12 months of Hunks at the Dump." I am sure there will be more opportunites for pictures in the near future.

We will keep you posted as the foundation starts to take shape!

Plow Away!!!

PLOW AWAY!!
With no further ado, today is the day! The land is being plowed to prepare the lot. As Mom said last night, "I think this is actually going to happen." The lot prep will take a few days. Here are a few pictures from our visit to see the lot one last time before everything is cleared.

New House...It's Official!!!

This story started about 15 years ago when my parents bought a beautiful piece of property to build their dream house. Here is the property just a few days ago....

Exactly like it was 15 years ago, but not for long!!

This is a historical moment in the Larimore family. The picture above is one of the last pictures of this lot untouched.

We held the offical groundbreaking of the NEW LARIMORE CASA this weekend. It was exciting to dig up the dirt and offically start the building process.

We hope to take pictures throughout the journey as the builders and contractors build this new house. We are excited to make this house a home. We are looking forward to this new adventure for the family, espcially my parents and Justin. It will be nice to have room for everyone when we make our daily visits home. It will also be nice to have room for family events. Shelly plans on having the first event in the house. She said that she is having her graduation party at the new house in May. Hopefully the house is done otherwise it may be quite toasty :)

I came across this today and thought it was perfect! I think it is a good reminder about what matters most. I love my family. I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of such a close family!

Cali Trip

We recently went to Oceanside before school went back into session. It was a FUN vacation!! We enjoyed time together at the beach. We stayed in the Condos in the picture below. It was so nice. We were able to enjoy the beach and the pier without the masses of people that normally swarm the California Beaches this time of year.
We collected tons of rocks. We planned on polishing the rocks and making a cool home decor item. That was quickly thrown out the window when the rock polisher had to be on for a week straight to polish 3 rocks....needless to say....the rock polisher will be donated!!

Isn't this a good look for J. A mermaid!!!

Everyone helped with the project :)

Catching some waves!!! Everyone made it...well almost everyone!
